Professor David Lerner

David was Project Director of SUBR:IM and is Professor of Environmental Engineering and Head of the Groundwater Protection and Restoration Group at the University of Sheffield.

David's research interests are on Catchment Science, urban groundwater pollution, DNAPL movement and the risks to groundwater and downstream users arising from residuals, and multilevel sampling technologies, including the development of the Multiport sock sampler, and a bundled piezometer design for sandstone aquifers.

He is now director of URSULA (Urban River Corridors and Sustainable Living Agendas), a daughter project of SUBR:IM. A press release on URSULA can be found here.
